The lower-end Fire tablets are surprisingly up-to-date: it was announced by Amazon, which, at the same time as the launch, already has opened the pre-orders of its Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 tablets in their most recent version. We cannot talk about real new products: the two cuts of the gadget have been on the market for years, and in particular in the transition from the previous models the improvements were marginal.

Compared to last year's version, the new Fire 7 slightly thinner and lighter, but inside it remained virtually identical and equipped with a 7-inch 1024 × 600 pixel resolution display, quad core CPU with 1 GB of RAM combined, 8 or 16 GB expandable internal memory, 2 and 0.3 megapixel cameras. Only the Wi-Fi module has been updated and now supports both the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 band, while the declared autonomy of the device should be increased from 7 to 8 hours.

For Fire HD 8 find the differences with the version we tried a few months ago even harder. On paper, in fact, the tablet hosts the same components: 8-inch and 1280 × 800 pixel display, quad core CPU with 1.5 GB of RAM, expandable 16 or 32 GB memory, 2 and 0.3 megapixel cameras, Wi-Fi module -Fi dual band e 12 hours of declared autonomy.

In the United States the tablet has undergone a price cut compared to the version marketed at the end of 2016, but we have remained unchanged.
