The social traveling site Tripwolf has launched the new version of the free application for iPhone and iPod Touch that allows travelers and onlookers to search and download tourist guides and then consult them offline, during the trip. The application offers updated content on more than 400,000 destinations worldwide and combines materials from professional guides (such as Marco Polo or Footprint) with the travel experiences already shared on the site by 18,000 Tripwolf users.
The software allows you to navigate through thousands of places of interest, restaurants, hotels and cultural attractions. All this available in five languages: English, German, Spanish, and Italian. You can consult the information (after free registration) without necessarily being connected to the Internet; in addition, by shaking the iPhone, the application presents the recommended places of interest in order of distance from where we are at that moment. You can choose to download the guides in full version (with also images and multimedia materials) or only their text version.
This new version includes "premium" content from the publishers FootPrint (UK) and Marco Polo (Germany); in addition, it is now possible to update the guides live with comments and photos directly from the iPhone or iPod Touch, vote and report your favorite places of interest, write reviews, add cards to places not yet present in the guide and search among the available cards. All activities can also be performed "off-line", in order to eliminate roaming costs (the information will be automatically synchronized the next time you connect to the network). In addition to the city guides available in previous versions, the application now also offers guides focused on entire countries or specific regions
It is possible to install Tripwolf for free on your device starting from this App Store page.
