Microsoft may finally have some satisfaction from the X-BOX.

According to an analyst, Charles Di Bona of Sanford C. Bernstein, in fact, the current sales trend driven by the Christmas market is boosting purchases of games compatible with the Redmond console. To encourage sales, the number of hardware systems sold in the past weeks and in turn supported by the discounts implemented to contrast the PS 2 on the market.

If Di Bona's predictions prove correct, Microsoft could obtain good results in the economic field. Game sales determine considerable profit margins for producers and Microsoft makes two ways in this field, selling development tools by supporting those who make games for X-BOX, but also by directly selling home-produced titles.

Di Bona estimates that Microsoft's revenue could have benefits between 1 cent per share to 4 cents per share from the increase in game sales.

Recall that Microsoft loses money for every X-BOX sold (so much so that the division that produced it made a red for 177 million dollars during the last fiscal quarter) but like other competitors it relies precisely on the sale of the software to determine the profit.
