Arlo, a well-known company in the field of smart home peripherals, has offered smart upcampanelli in its audio-only version; in the past few hours, the image of what could be the next generation smart bell, with video support, appeared on the net.
Arlo also known as a manufacturer of smart surveillance cameras, many of which have gained support for HomeKit recently. For this reason, if the manufacturer is planning to launch a new video doorbell, it is legitimate to ask whether this new device will also come standard with HomeKit support or if it will be re-used later by software update.
The images of Arlo's next doorbell video have been published by I-View Now, one of Arlo's partners. The image that we report in this article shows the lineup of the existing Arlo devices, and some future ones, among which the video bell stands out.
The new device will include a 2MP camera with Full HD resolution, wide sensor and two-way audio, according to the details visible in the image. To increase its versatility, the new video bell can connect to the existing digital and mechanical bells already installed on the doors.
At the moment, no details on the release date and price are known. It does not even notice the presence, or not, of the HomeKit support that would allow to fully exploit its functions with the Home app in combination with other smart home devices and accessories that use Apple HomeKit technology. In any case, this is a concrete hope, bearing in mind that many of the Arlo surveillance cameras are already HomeKit compatible.
