The technology must not be cold. In mobile devices, after all, we keep our things dearer and use them to communicate with the people we love. For us, technology must be warm and welcoming. It must bring people together and always closer to people. Cos Angela Lee, Designer of the Asus Design Center, describes the approach of the multinational to design and all-tech.
The names of our devices begin with the word Zen that not only an oriental philosophy, it also represents the perfect balance of opposites, as always happens in nature. So, we, too, try to find the perfect balance between performance and ease of use in our products, between avant-garde technology and inspiration from nature. This philosophy: closeness to people, cutting-edge technology but easy to use, inspired by nature was also at the center of the exhibition created by the Design Center of Asus at the Milan Design Week and named Glow of Life. The installation offered visitors an evocative journey of interactive sculptures inspired by nature and symbolizing the alternation of the seasons, giving life to a constantly moving spectacle of light and color. A real show that has combined technology and nature.
In this interactive installation, people used the flash of their smartphone to deposit a seed of light in technological trees, which thus came to life illuminating and generating a play of shapes and colors on the screens they were surrounding – Angela Lee explained – Glow Of Life the tangible expression of Asus's vision of technology as an ally to enrich the life of each individual, giving engaging digital experiences, able to add vivacity and beauty to everyday life.
with this same idea that Asus designs its own devices whether they are PCs or mobile phones: the user must use them easily, freeing all the power contained in them and thus making the most of their goals, but also their emotions. Design, in short, the center of everything where technology, materials, interaction, inspirations that come from nature converge, all to create objects that are companions, in work and in private view and not simply objects.
