Smartdisk, here are the first disks with FireWire 800 – Macitynet.it
SmartDisk Corporation, a company specialized in the production of hardware for data storage, presents a shortlist of novelties in the hard drives sector at the Macworld Expo.
SmartDisk a few hours after Steve Jobs' enthusiastic speech, seizes the moment and launches FireWire2 external drives (800 Mbit / sec), the stunning new standard on Titanium 2003 just presented at Keynote.
The offer starts with FirePower, a 200 Gb 3.5 HD specifically designed to contain a very large amount of data and to meet the needs of those who, in professional video editing as well as their extreme capacity, need very high transfer speed and of writing data.
The FirePower backwards compatible with the FireWire1 standard (400 Mbit / sec) equipped with a second USB2 interface. Hosted by an attractively designed case, it features a 7200 rpm mechanism with 8mb cache and the new high-performance Oxford 922 bridge. The FirePower is joined by FireLite, a portable HD available in 20, 40 and 60 Gb cuts with prices starting from $ 329.99 dollars .
