Since 2003 Dell printers – Macitynet.it
Dell makes its debut in the printer market.
The aggressive American company, now at the top in PC sales, confirming the rumors circulated in recent days, has today announced that it has reached an agreement with Lexmark for the creation of a line of printers that will be marketed under the Dell brand.
Lexmark and Dell, pending the first Dell-branded products, will work together immediately. Dell will elect Lexmark as the official supplier of printing products and implement a co-marketing policy. This means that Lexmark will be offered before competitor products in bundles and advertisements.
The first printers bearing the Dell brand will arrive in early 2003. At the same time, inks and printing products will also be marketed, all made in collaboration with Lexmark but with the Dell brand.
Dell's step can be seen as a response to HP which dominates the printer market with Epson and Canon but which, after the merger with Compaq, is in fact Dell's first competitor in the desktop computer sector
