At CES 2019 Airthings offers its new line of intelligent products to measure the quality of the air in the home or at work Airthings Wave and Wave Plus. The new sensors are able to measure the level of carbon dioxide, radon, volatile organic compounds (VOC), as well as temperature, pressure and humidity.
Probably not everyone will know what the VOC is. The term literally indicates the class of volatile organic compounds. In not too technical terms it is information that can give information on the freshness of the room, on factors that can negatively influence sleep, or indicate the level of pollution, for example for the paints or cleaning products used.
The version of Wave Mini by Airthings, a smaller detector, not as advanced as the larger Plus model, but capable of measuring VOC, humidity and temperature. However, its price is much lower than its Plus model. One can imagine, then, to use the larger model in the living room, as a central unit, while Onda Mini could be used in other rooms, as a satellite detector.
All the information collected by the sensors can be viewed from the app or through the Dashboard from any browser. you can also check the air quality in the room by passing your hand over it: a green light indicates good air quality, orange synonymous with mediocre quality, red with poor air quality.
The Wave model also available on Amazon in Italy for around 220 Euros while the Wave Mini will be launched in the coming months.
