Orange, 70 thousand iPhones sold
Orange estimates that it has sold 'more than 70,000 iPhones' since the launch of the phone in France on November 28th. The figure is reported by an article published by the French newspaper Les Echos which cites sources inside the arm for France Telecom's mobile telephony.
If the 70,000 iPhones were officially confirmed, the forecasts drawn up by Orange at the time of the introduction on the mobile market would be substantially respected. Then, through the transalpine media, Orange had made it known that it would market between 50 thousand and 100 thousand iPhones by the end of 2007.
Orange has also made it known that 48% of those who bought an iPhone have activated a new line and 82% have signed the contract that provides a data, voice and SMS bundle ranging from 49 to 119 euros. The phones without subscription, at a cost of 749 euros, were only 5% of the total, to be precise 3500.
