In late February, OnePlus launched the OxygenOS Open Beta 5 for OnePlus 6 and 6T. The update introduced the Android security patches of February 2020, the Zen Mode v1.5.0, many bug fixes and several optimizations.
Yesterday, more than a month after the last update, the Shenzhen-based company began distributing the new update OxygenOS Open Beta 6 for both devices. The update brings with it the Android security patches relating to the month of March 2020 and some bug fixes.
According to what emerged in the change changelog, the update does not add new features, which should instead arrive in future updates of OxygenOS. OnePlus' intention is probably to focus first on launching the new OnePlus 8 series before announcing new features.
However, according to what has emerged online in recent days, it seems that the company of CEO Pete Lau is working on some very interesting features, such as Always on Display, Instant Translation and an "extended" Dark Mode. The OnePlus 7T series also recently gained Live Caption support. Some of these features will certainly also be implemented on OnePlus 6 and 6T, but at the moment it is not known which ones.
At the system level, the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 allows you to unlock LockBox without problems in File Manager. Also, thanks to this new update, owners of the two OnePlus phones will no longer have to deal with crashes when full screen applications are launched.
With the update, moreover, you can get rid of empty screens while cleaning apps in the background. Finally, as mentioned, both OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T get the Android security patches updated to the month of March.
