New 2 GHz Pentium 4-M – Macitynet.it
Intel should release a new series of Pentium 4-M capable of reaching 2 GHz later this month.
If the indiscretion, reported by several sites, turned out to be correct, the Santa Clara company would also be the first to cross the double GHz target in the laptop sector, beating all the competition over time. The "M" series processors are in fact intended for the laptop world.
The Pentium 4 would also set another interesting record, moving from 1.7 Ghz in just three months, the speed of the debut, to 2 GHz, ahead of schedule which spoke of an upgrade only by autumn. Usually laptop processors, on the other hand, have slower progress than desktop processors.
In addition to the 2 GHz version, Intel will also introduce a 1.9 GHz version and lower the prices of the previous versions, paving the way for the definitive retirement of the old Pentium III-M
