Macitynet from the beginning of the Mobile World Congress claims that the Barcelona fair dedicated to the world of mobility is probably one of the main virtual Apple events in the world and yesterday there was the official certification, which came surprisingly from the same organization that assigned Steve Jobs the title of Mobility Person of The Year.
According to what is stated in the reasons reported by MacWorld, the award established for the fifteenth anniversary of the Barcelona event (which was previously held for Cannes), awarded to those who "contributed to the" growth and convergence of the mobile world during the last year ”, a title that certainly corresponds to what Jobs did. Apple's CEO overtook other very important personalities of the caliber of Eric Schmidt (head of Google) and Mike Lazaridis (CEO and founder of Rim).
The actor Stephen Fry, who awarded the prizes, explicitly mentioned the looming presence of the figure of Jobs on the whole event, then mentioning the fact that "Apple's success inspires the world of mobility and pushes the entire ecosystem to adapt, adopt some choices and seek excellence ". The presenter then outlined Jobs's personality and career, also passing through some little-known moments, such as the birth of HTML on a NeXT computer by Tim Berniers Lee. The creator of the modern Web had not then had the pleasure of showing his creation to Jobs who during a fair did not pause even for a moment in front of the invention that changed the world and “still today these two men who have changed the the world – Fry said – have never met yet, which is certainly a significant fact ”.
In the final part, the joke about the iDiaper (or rather the iPad that would take too long for Jobs and for this reason makes it impossible to find time to do many things) was not missing.
N Jobs, of course, nor any other Apple representative was present at the awards ceremony. Instead, both Schmidt and Lazaridis were in the audience.
