Kurzweil "Blio", a specific e-book format for iPhone – Macitynet.it
Ray Kurzweil, the well-known "futurologist" pioneer in numerous technological sectors, plans to release a new e-book format specifically for iPhones and tablet devices. Called "Blio", the new standard should allow to remove the limitations of current digital texts, allowing to manage images and texts in a complex way, as well as the display of diagrams, all without depriving themselves of text search functionality. The format should also allow full color management and make text-to-speech features similar to those offered by Kindle books marketed by Amazon available.
The volumes initially available will be commercial, free and public domain works. In many, if not all cases, the reader (the application for reading e-books) will be free and available in versions for Mac, PC and iPhone. The format from the beginning designed to be cross-platform and not tied in any way to any specific platform.
More details on Blio will be announced during the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) which will be held in Las Vegas from January 7th to 10th.
