iPad: for some accessories longer delivery times – Macitynet.it
Apple has postponed the availability date of some of the most anticipated accessories for iPad including the dock base with integrated keyboard and the optional external power supply, now both scheduled for the month of May. Recall that last Friday with the activation of the pre-order service for iPad in the USA, Apple immediately offered the possibility to select a wide range of accessories, all initially reported with immediate availability, namely on April 3, first day of marketing the tablet.
With today's update on the US Apple online store, the timing for the official Apple multipurpose case for iPad has also shifted: previously scheduled for launch, now indicated with availability from mid-April. However, there is still no news on the digital photography package, which includes two Dock connections to connect iPad to cameras respectively and one with SD card reader. Delivery times remain unchanged for the iPad dock base and also for the Dock-VGA adapter, which at this point should arrive together with the tablet on April 3, although at the moment it does not seem possible to exclude the postponement of other accessories during the next few days.
The slippage over time of the most popular iPad accessories could be due to the first limited supplies but, this is the most likely hypothesis, also due to the great demand for iPad registered in these days. Finally, remember that the changes over time affect US users who, starting from today, order accessories through the online Apple Store.
It is not yet clear whether the accessories that have been delayed will be available or not at the Apple chain stores for users who have chosen to book with direct collection on April 3.
