Aruba, company Hewlett Packard Enterprise announces the solution Software-Defined Branch (SD-Branch), a new approach designed to support customers in the process of modernizing the networks of branch offices, in order to respond to evolving requirements for cloud, IoT and mobility. The integration of new SD-WAN network solutions, wired and wireless managed via cloud and protected by the application of contextual policies, significantly increases the ability of IT professionals to provide greater levels of network availability and application performance, significantly reducing the time required for management and fixed and variable costs.
The SD-Branch solution of HPE Aruba integrates the new Aruba Branch Gateway to implement a single point of application for SD-WAN, wired and wireless networks using the Aruba Central cloud management platform to provide remote sites with secure and simplified large-scale connectivity. This unified and tailor-made solution represents a significant step forward compared to the SD-WAN proposals, thanks also to the more compact devices, the rationalization of the deployment of large-scale distributed installations and the reduction of WAN connectivity costs for the branch offices.
The main advantages of the Aruba SD-Branch solution are:
Simplicity on an enterprise scale: cloud-based management enables remote provisioning and administration of wired and wireless connections in the branch office and WAN and Internet connections available in the SD-WAN infrastructure. This allows IT to rapidly deploy new services and network changes within large distributed environments without having to resort to on-site IT resources.
Integrated best-in-class security: Aruba security solutions have functionality for the application of intra-branch and automated and granular WAN policies. New technology partners participating in the Aruba 360 Security Exchange program provide protection against threats and firewalls via the cloud.
Optimized experience in branch offices: the contextual awareness of applications, users and devices allows to obtain granular QoS inside the remote site and through the WAN for SaaS applications, for mobile UCs and for other remote applications. It simplifies the way in which LAN and WAN traffic is prioritized and routed internally and externally to the branch offices so as to provide a homogeneous experience regardless of the user's role, type of device or location.
IT professionals can integrate new SD-WAN features within the networks of their branch offices without having to upgrade the Arub access points and switchesto. The Aruba SD-Branch solution in fact supplied within Aruba Central with subscription licenses applied to a branch gateway at each site and to a centrally installed headend gateway. Hardware list prices start at $ 1,495 per gateway. Subscriptions start at $ 450 per gateway per year. Customer deliveries will begin in July 2018.
