How to have over thirty two thousand songs with iTunes.

It is several hours of music (with an approximate account we can estimate about 128,000 MB – plus or minus seven 20 GB iPods to record them all) but they are still a limit: this is the maximum number of 32,000 songs that iTunes can store in its own library.

The information certainly useful for those with a wide discography comes from an Apple kBase from last April, which is still useful with the new version ".

The obvious solution is to create new libraries: here's how.

1. Find the "iTunes Music Library" file in the iTunes folder (in turn in the Documents folder).

2. Create a folder called "Backup" and copy it into the iTunes Music Library file (2).

If you make a mistake or want to have only one library, you can always go back.

3. Create a folder called β€œLibrary 1” and copy the Tunes Music Library file to it.

4. Create a folder called "Library 2" and copy the iTunes Music Library file to it.

5. Repeat this for each 32,000 song increment. For example, if you have more than 64 000 songs, create two Library folders, if you have more than 96 000 songs, create three Library folders and so on.

6. Open iTunes, add, delete or change songs in Music Library for the first 32 000 songs.

7. Exit iTunes, copy "iTunes Music Library" mentioned in step 1 into Library 1.

8. Open iTunes, add, delete or change songs in Music Library for the other 32 000 songs.

9. Exit iTunes, copy the "iTunes Music Library" mentioned in step 1 into Library 2.

10. Repeat this for every 32,000 song increment.

To access each Music Librariey, copy the respective "iTunes Music Library" file to the iTunes folder (in Documents), replacing the "iTunes Music Library (2)" file already present. Important: if you accidentally move the file instead of copying it, be sure to put it back in the respective folder, otherwise you will have to repeat some of the initial steps.
