How to Clear Spotlight Search History on iPhone (iOS 10)

iPhone has had Spotlight research for some time now, and very useful. You can simply swipe left from the Home screen or swipe down to access Spotlight search and search for anything you want. Everything is fine, but if you use Spotlight search on your iPhone or iPad there are most likely things in the search history that appear below it. If Apple got it right with Spotlight's search history on the iPhone, it was the fact that it only shows the last three searches you've done. However, there is no option to clear that history. Then, if you want to clear the search history of Spotlight on your iPhone or iPad, here's how you can do it in iOS 10:

While it may not seem possible to clear Spotlight's search history on an iPhone, there is actually a way to do it. Not exactly a given "option", but more of a quick fix you can use to clear the search history on your iPhone:

1. Go to " Settings -> General -> Spotlight Search ".

2. Here, just move the switch next to " Siri Suggestions " up "Off" and turn it back on.

This will clear the search history to search for your iPhone's Spotlight and restore your Spotlight search screen to its clean (ish) appearance.

Remember when we navigated to the "Spotlight Search" page in "Settings"? This is the screen where you can handle everything related to screen of Spotlight search on your iPhone. Unfortunately, it has no option to clear the search history for Spotlight search, which seems like a sad oversight from Apple. However, this screen allows you to customize a lot of things about Spotlight search on your iPhone, so play around with the settings here, if you ever need to change the results that Spotlight search shows on your iPhone.
