Initially developed only for Motorola smartphones with the name Spotlight Player, the application now available on the Play Store for all Android (although not yet optimized for some) and will also be released soon on the App Store for iPhone and iPod. It is an app capable of displaying interactive 360-degree movies: the original stories are two animated shorts designed to continue the story only when the viewer – equipped with a Cardboard – looking around, can find the exact spot where the action.

Not only that: the app now also includes four new cinamtographic shorts, produced by ATAP: one of these fromFast and Furious 6 and was made by the director of the saga, Justin Lin. Thanks to Spotlight Stories, by moving the phone to the right or left you can see the movie at different angles, giving life to a true interactive story in which one can choose how to be part of the plot: in the middle of the action or spectators, on the one hand.

To shoot the shorts have been used 4 Epic RED cameras with 6K definitionand each episode weighs even 1GB. The management of the movie, for, very light, for the phone, because the processor only renders the part that is actually seen: just 25% of the total.

Google also released the developer kit for filmmakers they wantedcreate your own interactive stories. There are the same instruments used by the directors: for storyboarding, music and sound design, publishing and testing on different smartphone models.
