Gmail continues to grow, on Twitter announced that in the last 3 years it has gained another 500 million Gmail users, for a total of 1.5 billion
The number of Gmail users continues to grow. Not even three years have passed since Google reported that the platform had exceeded one billion active users. Now the e-mail service, still steadily growing, has announced on Twitter that it has gained another 500 million Gmail users, for a total of 1.5 billion.
By size, 1.5 billion Gmail users indicate that there is an active Gmail account for every five people on the planet.
This does not mean that there are "only" one and a half billion people using the service: every Gmail address activated by one user (so multiple accounts for a single person are also counted). Even considering this aspect, there is still an insanely high number of active accounts and a clear domination in the web-based email market.
