Gameloft reaches 10 million sales on the App Store. The record ,. although set by one of the major producers and developers of video games available via digital download, it is very consistent and underlines the success of both the Gameloft range and the Apple online store (as well as the use platform, iPhone and iPod touch).
Christmas sales were driven by what Gameloft calls "the incredible success of N.O.V.A.- Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance and Avatar. Both games have conquered the best positions in the sales rankings in all the main world markets such as the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Holland and Spain ".
According to Gameloft, during the Christmas period, N.O.V.A.- Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance was the best-selling game in the United States and Japan; it occupied the second position in the ranking in France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Canada and the fourth position in the United Kingdom and Italy.
Avatar, on the other hand, secured the top of the charts in France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland by conquering the third position in the United Kingdom, the fourth in the United States, the fifth in Canada and the sixth in Italy.
"We had a really great year on the App Store," said Michel Guillemot, president and general manager of Gameloft. "Our success is due not only to quality productions but also to a concrete interest in offering the market highly relevant games at a commercial level and appreciated by a large user base. Considering that the App Store has only 18 months of activity behind it, 10 million games sold are a result to be very proud of. "
In addition to the success of N.O.V.A.- Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance and Avatar, other titles that have occupied excellent positions in the sales charts during the Christmas period are Driver, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X, Asphalt 5, The Settlers, Skater Nation and Shrek Kart
