The spread of the pandemic of coronavirus forced many companies to one temporary closure, as imposed also by the measures decreed by the various governments, including the Italian one.
But how do you know which companies have the shutter closed and in which places do you work regularly instead? To meet customers, eager not to make "empty" trips, Google Maps has thought of an option that allows you to have this information.
This option, in plain English, would assign status "Temporarily closed" to all those companies that have suspended their work activity until the emergency linked to the spread of Covid-19 lasts.
Google recently announced that business owners can announce their temporary closure via the Google My Business. This change will appear accordingly in search results on Google and Google Maps. The company also claimed that, using government data and other authoritative sources, would have made this change automatically.
The function is already available for business owners. A new page in Google's support forums explains how business owners can mark their location as "temporarily closed" in Maps and Search. And as for all those companies that have opted for opening at reduced hours following the epidemic? So far, the option does not seem to concern these activities, but it is said that BigG will not improve it in the future.
As explained by the Mountain View giant, the business owner just has to log in to Google My Business e click on Information.that is in the left menu. Subsequently, the user must click on the "Close this activity on Google" section and finally on "Mark as temporarily closed" to inform of the temporary closure also on Maps.
