Commodore 64: the emulator returns to the App Store – Macitynet.it
The Commodore 64 emulator for iPhone and touch returned to being available on the App Store in the past few hours, after an obligatory absence of about a couple of months. Apple removed Manomio's C64 shortly after its debut on the App Store, after discovering a trick that allowed to enable the Basic interpreter integrated in the software. No code interpreted and unauthorized by Apple can be executed on the iPhone and touch, a fundamental clause of the App Store.
For the large number of fans of the historic Commodore computer, the C64 emulator is now available in version 1.1. The programmer ensures 30% higher performance, in addition 3 additional games have been included: International Soccer, Basketball and Tennis. These are added to the 5 titles available since the first release on the App Store: Macitynet tried the C64 emulator in this article, a few hours before the removal from the App Store.
Other news include a screen that offers a description of the game and some instructions. The C64 emulator will soon integrate an internal shop into the program for the purchase of other games: Manomio promises the new function for the month of December. In the meantime, all commodorians can buy C64 for 3.99 euros on the App Store.
