China: dismantled factory that produced tarot iPhones – Macitynet.it
Chinese police dismantled an illegal workshop that made fake iPhones in the city of Shenzhen. In the operation which took place last Friday but which has been reported only in recent days, over 1,000 fake iPhones and about 6,000 batteries for the smartphone were requisitioned. The police took 28 people into custody who dealt with the fake workshop, of which 7 were arrested.
Each bogus iPhone was sold for only 500 yuan, a little more than 50 euros, compared to the official price of 5,000 yuan, over 500 euros. The activity dismantled by the police was meticulously organized: several departments had been created within the workshop to follow the purchase of the components, an assembly line and finally also a sales department.
Apple's local representatives expressed their appreciation for the law enforcement operation: the local Shenzhen newspaper reports that Apple's local branch plans to send staff to investigate the case.
