ASUS has announced the availability of the ExpertBook B9 (B9450) notebook, the latest addition to the ExpertBook series, also available on the Italian market, presenting it as offering "unmatched performance, durability and design" in a reduced form factor. With a weight of less than one kg, and a thin profile of 14.9 mm, the ASUS ExpertBook B9 (B9450) defined by the conservator as "the lightest business laptop in the world".
Thanks to the four-sided NanoEdge display, the 14-inch dsi panel fits into a standard 13-inch notebook chassis with a 94% screen-to-body ratio. The manufacturer speaks of "long life battery". The two-cell 33Wh battery of ExpertBook B9 (B9450) indicated can offer "productivity up to 12 hours", while a 66Wh power source offers up to 24 hours with the same workload. Fast charging support brings both battery options up to 60% of maximum capacity in 39 minutes.
The comfort guaranteed also by the presence of a hinge ("ErgoLift") that promise "better typing experience". integrated support for Amazon Alexa and an optimized Harman Kardon sound system.
Performance should be top-notch thanks to a 10th generation Intel Core processor, dual-storage design with two 2 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 i SSDs, 16 GB of RAM and non-Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) connectivity.
Of note: two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two HDMI and the ASUS NumberPad 2.0 key integrated in the touchpad (for data entry). In addition to being built to last over time thanks to the Military Grade standard, ExpertBook B9 (B9450) integrates a dedicated Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM) chip to keep critical data safe for the company, while an integrated IR camera allows login biometric safe.
Four microphones that support background noise cancellation for video conferencing; cover allows to obscure the IR camera and a light bar on the front of the notebook is activated when using the integrated support for Microsoft Cortana and Amazon Alexa.
The milled frame in magnesium and lithium alloy; the manufacturer indicates the notebook as more resistant but at the same time lighter than the previous magnesium alloy models, with a thin profile of 14.9 mm and a weight of less than one kg.
The Ethernet interface is interesting, accessible through a physical micro-HDMI port, on the same side, for workplaces that require a wired connection or simply for situations where wireless network connections are weaker. On the right side, there is a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port and a 3.5 mm jack for audio.
