IK Multimedia from Modena has announced AmpliTube iRig, a three-way adapter (29.99 euros) that allows you to transform the iPhone / iPod Touch or iPad into a guitar amplifier and a multi-effect bass. The device uses the 3.5 mm stereo minijack output for earphones, provides a jack socket for connection to the guitar and a mini-jack socket for connection to headphones, self-powered speakers or other audio devices (amplifiers or a computer for the registration).
All managed thanks to a (free) software called "Amplitube" to be installed on the iPhone. The application (not yet available on the App Store, but should arrive soon) allows you to process three stompbox effects, various effects, amplification, the microphone, and so on exactly like an electric guitar or a traditional bass simultaneously. There are also two paid versions of this application: the intermediate Ampli Tube LE (2.39 euros) and the even more complete AmpliTube (15.99 euros). The free version simulates two effects pedals, amps, cabinets and two microphones. The less complete versions of the application can possibly be expanded by purchasing (with the in-app option): 2.39 euros for each pedal and 3.99 euros for each amp-cabinet pair.
Recall that IK Multimedia is already present on the App Store with the complete series of GrooveMaker apps. The GrooveMaker app allows you to easily and intuitively create music of different genres, using and combining the hundreds of tracks included in each version of GrooveMaker. The software offers an eight-track mixer and available in different versions that allow you to create music for all iPhone and touch users, even for those who are not a DJ or a professional. GrooveMaker available in Raggae, Electro, D’n’B, Club, Techno, Trance versions. All IK Multimedia apps from the GrooveMaker series are available from this App Store page. Also starting from this link, the new apps of the AmpliTube iRig series will be available as soon as they are released.
