The need to purchase adapters for MacBook Pro ports stems from the choices made by Apple on the MacBook Pro starting with the 2016 version, which made users discuss it. Above all, the one that generated the greatest fuss is the elimination of all the expansion ports, replaced by 4 USB Type-C / Thunderbolt 3 ports. The classic USB ports, the SD card reader and an HDMI output present in the previous generation of the Apple laptop. The Californian company known for this kind of decision, we also remember in the past the decision to anticipate the times by removing, for example, the DVD player from its MacBook.
Undoubtedly, traditional USB ports are still widely used. For this reason, at least for the first time, it is necessary to obtain adapters for MacBook Pro ports of various formats to make up for the lack of doors of the new MacBook Pro. Apple offers its adapters on the official website, but as with all products sold by the company, the selling price is significantly higher than similar products produced by third-party companies.
Adapters for MacBook Pro ports
I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro and found myself also having to purchase the missing MacBook Pro port adapters. Specifically, I need to have an HDMI and Ethernet port in addition to the classic USB Type-A. I excluded Apple's solutions a priori, relying on well-known companies that for years now have offered different economic and reliable solutions on Amazon.
In this article I would like to talk to you about my experience with MacBook Pro adapters made by Aukey. Specifically, I had the chance to try three company products: a Hub with 2 USB 3.1 ports an HDMI port and two memory card ports, a Hub with 4 USB 3.0 ports, 1 VGA output and 1 YSB Type C input and finally a simple one HDMI adapter.
USB C hub, HDMI 4k, SD and TF players, 2 USB 3.0 ports
The first Aukey product I tried thereUSB Type-C Hub 5 in 1 that provides 2 USB 3.1 type ports, a 4K HDMI port, two slots for SD and TF memory card readers. The dongle made of aluminum alloy, which gives the product a premium appearance (the color is very similar to the classic gray of the MacBook), solving with this product the known problems of classic ports on the MacBook.
No drivers or software are required to use the Hub. It will be enough to connect it to the MacBook Pro, or to any device equipped with a USB Type-C port, and everything will start working without problems. The 5Gbps speed of the Aukey Dongle and the MacBook USB Type-C connection, can guarantee a speed in data transfer that does not degrade even when 2 USB devices are connected simultaneously and the HDMI port is also used. During the test phase I found that the transfer of a .rar archive of about 4GB from the Mac to an external Western Digital Hard Disk with USB 3.0 occurred in less than 1 minute. A speed not at 5 Gbps, but in line with the speeds reached by a USB Type-A 3.1 port integrated in the computer. The two slots for SD cards and Micro SD cards transfer data up to 480 Mbps.
Even the HDMI port works very well connected to an external screen and provides a resolution up to (email protected). Great for connecting your MacBook to a maxi screen or a video projector.

USB C Aukey 4k Hub, 1000 Mbps Ethernet, SD and Micro SD Players, 2 USB 3.1 Ports, 100W Charge Port and VGA
The second multi-port adapter 8 in 1 with USB Type C connection by Aukey has a design that is always in line with the Apple style. The aluminum alloy is the material used to build this HUB. More than the previous HUB, in addition to the number of ports, it also allows you to recharge devices connected to the device. It is equipped with two USB Type-A 3.0 ports, a VGA output, a USB Type-C charging port, HDMI, a Gigabit Ethernet port and two slots for SD and Micro SD cards. As you can guess from the available ports, this Dogle was originally designed for a MacBook that only has one USB Type-C port. In this way, using this adapter, it is possible to recharge the smartphone via the integrated C-type port, in addition to being able to use all the ports it has to offer. Obviously fully compatible with the new MacBook Pro, although I'm sure that the USB Type-C port will rarely be used in the latter case.
Also for this product the transfer speed in line with that described for the first Hub and the VGA output works very well. I connected the laptop to a projector without any problem, being able to see an excellent fresh rate and no problems from the point of view of lag or unexpected connections.
The Aukey quality allows the device ports to be used simultaneously, without overheating, noise or other problems. The HUB has an integrated protection to protect against overload, overvoltages and short circuits. Moreover, the integrated inductors prevent any kind of interference with Wi-Fi networks and with Bluetooth connections.

USB C to HDMI 4K Aukey adapter cable
Lultimotra the adapters for MacBook Pro ports of which I want to talk to you about a simple adapter cable from USB Type-C to HDMI length of 1.8 m. The adapter allows you to manage outgoing connections up to 4K, making it compatible even with lower quality connections from 1080p and 720p.
therefore ideal to be used also with last generation monitors or video projectors, which easily guarantee a high quality display. If you have a 5K monitor instead, this adapter will not let you take advantage of the full resolution of your monitor. In this case I suggest you rely on a Thunderbolt 3 connection, where it is compatible with your monitor.
