Acer announces the Quantum Dot display tablet

At Computex, the Taiwanese group has unveiled its new products in the tablet and PC field: tablets, convertible laptops and notebooks for gamers

As happens every year at the Computex in Taipei, the home manufacturer Acer took advantage of the upcoming event to announce the arrival of its next products in the field of tablet and PC.

The first gadget revealed to the public Acer Iconia Tab 10, an Android tablet dedicated to the reproduction of multimedia content. In fact, it has a 10 inch display at the base made with Quantum Dot technology, an unpublished work on an Android tablet. The same system adopted by manufacturers like Samsung on their TVs and as results images with more realistic colors, but not the only stratagem adopted by the Taiwanese group to make the contents reproduced on the tablet more engaging: Iconia Tab 10 also hosts an audio system equipped of four independent speakers and a subwoofer.

The second tablet announced Iconia One 10, a tool that Acer intends to devote to productivity: it exchanges the quantum dot screen with a more common IPS LCD unit, but doubles the number of micro USB ports on board thus offering the possibility of connecting several accessories to the tablet at the same time. The two gadgets will be available respectively from October and from July, at the price of 249 and 179 euros.

There is no shortage of novelties even among notebooks.

Acer Spin 1 a convertible Windows 10 with 11.6-inch touch display at Full HD resolution and equipped with Intel Pentium or Intel Celeron processors accompanied by 4 GB of RAM, which makes versatility its strong point: usable both as a laptop and as a tablet, the gadget compatible with the Acer accessory nib and houses its internal up to 128 GB of memory (expandable via microSD) plus a USB 3.1 port, a 2.0 and an HDMI, all at a starting price of 399 euros; will be available since July.

Acer Nitro 5 instead a solution dedicated to players and equipped with a seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with a GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card or an AMD A processor with a Radeon RX550 GPU. The display is a 15.6-inch Full HD panel, the RAM memory that can be assigned to the system up to 32 GB, while for storage there are SSD solutions up to 513 GB or traditional hard drives up to 2 TB. Arriving on the market in August at a price of 1199 euros.
