45 million iPhones seen by 2009?
In 2009, Apple could sell 45 million iPhones. The figure, decidedly exceptional considering the relative youth of the product, is estimated by Gene Munster, an analyst with Piper Jaffray.
To quadruple the sales forecast for 2008 (which we should remember about 10 million), some conditions will have to be respected. The first the introduction of the iPhone 3G within a span of 3/6 months, the availability of two or three iPhone models by January 2009 and of these one that will place themselves at $ 200 and $ 300, entering new countries by multiplying for two the potential iPhone market, finally giving new functions to the iPhone by June 2008.
Among the most interesting data of the roadmap presented by Munster, the fact that it is taken for granted that iPhone in Italy will arrive within the current year. Tim represents, with his over 35 million contracts, one of the main operators of the lot. During 2008 Munster also thinks that iPhone will arrive in Mexico, Japan, Australia and Canada. The launch in India, China and Spain is expected in 2009.
