In the wake of the success achieved by Doodle Jump, and almost wanting to take advantage of it, several titles that have recently appeared on the iPhone and iPod Touch have been published with a very similar name. Despite all the expedient failed to attract as many attentions, making the games in question seem merely mere clones. Surprisingly, the last game of JoyBits, called Doodle God, was an exception, which promptly placed in the second position of the best-selling games on the App Store in its debut week, behind Angry Birds and even surpassing Doodle Jump.

For those unfamiliar with it, Doodle God is a bizarre mix of management and divinity simulator, in which the player is asked to combine the various elements available to create new tools, weapons or creatures. By mixing fire and stone it is possible, for example, to create steel plates, while with the right elements you can give life to a cat or even to the human species. Experimenting has its downsides, and you could end up with a poisonous potion or a zombie in an attempt to want to create a small plant. One wonders how long the game will last, but for now it can be purchased on the App Store at a cost of 79 cents.
