PEnGUIn Encoder M4V 0.98b10, freeware encoder for M4V – Macitynet.it
PEnGUIn Encoder M4V 09.98b10 the new version of a freeware encoder designed to convert many video formats (also VMW) to M4V (H264) format, obviously handy for converting iPod, iPhone, AppleTV, etc.
It is actually a GUI (graphic interface) built around applications designed for the command line such as: mencoder (encoder of Linux origin), MP4Box (muxer MPEG-4 to import x264, DivX, Xvid, 3ivx or FFmpeg video and audio streams Mp4) and Ccextractor (a tool to analyze video files and create subtitles). After starting the program you need to install some binary support files (just go to the menu and choose "Update binaries"). It is possible to queue the files to be encoded, upload and save lists of files, set editors and preview applications. It is possible to add titles from .srt files.
This new version solves some problems in the conversion of DIVX files and adds support for double pass encoding for x264 (you can activate it from the preferences menu). The minimum requirement for the operation of the Mac OS X 10.5 or higher application. Universal Binary software therefore works on both Macs with PowerPC CPUs and Macs with Intel CPUs.
