A new Apple TV 4K is ready for launch, according to the prolific and generally reliable Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech. The details are few but substantial: 64 or 128 GB internal storage and SoC Apple A12X Bionic. The code name of the product should be Neptune T1125.
Indiscretions in this sense had already been reported in recent weeks – especially regarding the storage options, which in fact doubled compared to the current model. A pleasant surprise was the choice to incorporate a SoC of the "X" series, which is the most powerful one dedicated to tablets. In particular, the A12X is derived from the SoC of iPhone XS and XR, and made its debut in the third generation iPad Pro in late 2018.
There are no precise details on the presentation date, but given the Apple modus operandi in recent weeks the device could arrive at any time. In response to the COVID-19 emergency, the Apple company is launching all its new products via press release, practically without warning, little by little. We started with the iPad Pro and the MacBook Air 2020, then in mid-April it was the turn of the iPhone SE and in the last few days of the MacBook Pro 13. To specify, this methodology by Apple is not an absolute novelty, but it is it is clear that the pandemic forced her to force her hand a little.
