After D-Link Omna 180 the second security camera to support Apple HomeKit: Logitech Circle 2 officially enters the Apple ecosystem through a firmware update available for all users starting today. From this moment it can therefore be included in the automations of iOS 10, for example to set the turning on of the lights when a movement is detected by the camera.

But on one condition: HomeKit support currently available only for the wired version of the camera. This is an important limit since the battery version has the greatest versatility on its side as it can be easily installed anywhere in the room.

According to a Logitech representative, this is a requirement wanted by Apple for reasons currently not better specified but presumably related to security issues.

Recall that the Logitech Circle 2 video camera on sale in stores and on Amazon at the price of 199 euros for the wired version.
