Burn cross-platform data DVDs with Toast Titanium – Macitynet.it
With the diffusion of burnable DVDs, the Mac user wonders if it is possible and in what way to create DVD ROMs containing large data, think of the printing services and graphic studios that have to create large catalogs! Obviously the DVD-RW Apple or SuperDrive, it can also burn Data discs and only video DVDs, and, with a capacity of 4.7 GB and 2x speed, it is able to record in a few minutes and without major fuss for the division into "Slices" that you should carry out with a support of 700 Mb maximum such as CD-RW.
But how can you be sure that the recorded DVD will be readable not only from the Mac but also from the PC? Just don't listen to Toast Titanium 5.1.2 which asks you to prepare a DVD and instead go to the application menu dedicated to "Files and Folders" or "Data" and select the item "Mac OS Extended and PC (Hybrid) CD: just then drag your folders to the Toast window and start recording. At this point the application will recognize by itself that it does not have a CD to write, but a DVD and will record the data in a format compatible with both Mac than with any PC with a DVD player and Windows.
Easier than that …
