The game of cat and mouse between Apple and jailbreakers is not new. After all these years, there is no clear winner at all. Recently, Apple has had the upper hand since newer versions of iOS have been a problem for hackers. Although we've seen an iOS 10 jailbreak tool from Yalu, it currently only supports 64-bit devices with iOS 10.2 or earlier and if you have an iPhone 7, you'll need to stick to iOS 10.1.1 if you want your device to be jailbroken. Make no mistake, these iOS versions have been outdated for 5-6 months, since the latest version of iOS 10.3.1. Just when we thought things couldn't get worse for the jailbreaking community, the Chinese hacking team Pangu there shed some light on the possibility of a working iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak.
Yes, the same team that popularized for their work on the iOS 9 jailbreak came back once again, showing us one demo of an iPhone 7 jailbroken with iOS 10.3.1 . Exactly, are you excited? Well, you can check out the video for yourself.
The above demonstration only fueled speculation that Pangu may have plans to release the iOS 10.3.1 jailbreak in a few days . Keep in mind that a simple demonstration by the jailbreaking team does not always mean that it will be available to the public. Jailbreaks are sometimes tested for research purposes with no intention of public release. So, be sure to catch this news with a pinch of salt. However, if they are actually planning to make it public, it may be available already next week. At least, there is still a ray of hope for most of us.
