Sonnet presented the new SF3 series of SxS Pro card readers, the second of a family of memory readers that boasts a 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 interface. The Sonnet reader has a dual card slot and can handle the 2,750 MB / s bandwidth offered by Thunderbolt. It is possible to manage two cards simultaneously at maximum speed and compatible with SD and XQD cards in combination with the Sonnet SDHC Adapter and Sony XQD ExpressCard adapters.
The compact device measures 14.5cm x 13cm x 2.5cm and looks like a light extruded aluminum box. It integrates two Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB-C type connector): one port to be connected to the computer and the second to cascade up to five other devices, two 4K monitors or a 5K monitor. The package includes a 0.5m Thunderbolt 3 cable plus the Sonnet ThunderLok 3 Thunderbolt Connector Retainer Clip which prevents accidental disconnection of the cable.
Multiple SF3 readers can be stacked on top of each other, allowing you to read up to six cards simultaneously. The minimum requirement on Mac macOS 10.12.1 or later. The ports provides up to 15W allowing you to cascade peripherals and host devices of various types.
