Dropbox: the official iPhone app begins the approval process – Macitynet.it
About a month ago we announced the upcoming availability of an Dropbox iPod touch and iPhone application, the convenient online storage service, already available for Mac and Windows and so far accessible in multitouch only via the web.
With the now customary update via Twitter, the company has announced that it has sent its application to Apple and is awaiting the approval of the Apple company.
It remains to be seen whether Apple will give its ok, given that Dropbox could be considered an app with duplicate functionality, being a direct competitor of iDisk for iPhone, released a few weeks ago.
Given Apple's policy, which is unclear and often not very open in the face of applications that could represent an alternative to the apps that Apple itself makes available on the App Store, it would not be surprising if the approval process ended with a refusal.
