On all the latest iPad models you can connect Bluetooth mouse and trackpad. Here are the compatible models, and how to proceed.

Thanks to iPadOS 13.4, released in recent days, you can use mouse and trackpad also on Apple tablets. The feature available on all iPad Pro models, on iPad Air 2 and later, on 5th generation iPad and later, and on iPad mini 4 or later.

Before buying the new iPad Pro with LiDAR scanner and the new MacBook Air 2020, there are a couple of things you should know. For better or for worse.

To proceed tomouse pairing or Bluetooth trackpad on iPad, just follow these steps:

  • Activate the pointing device to be paired (make sure it is in pairing mode: for Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad just click once or twice)
  • On iPad, open Bluetooth Settings
  • The device to be paired should appear in the list

Apple pointing devices will be recognized and configured automatically; for those of other brands, theentering a code. In this case, try 0000.

Also pay attention to the amount of Bluetooth trinkets that you connect to iPad at the same time. When the number becomes excessive, a can occur radio interference phenomenon; iPad will signal this to you with a warning message that reads more or less "The use of such a device can affect the performance of WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity." In this case, go back to Bluetooth settings and disconnect something.
