iDisk: remote access to incoming data also for iPhone

iDisk: remote access to incoming data also for iPhone – logomacitynet1200wide 1

Over the past few days Apple has made several improvements and tweaks to MobileMe online services: some tweaks integrated this night have changed the icon of the iDisk function. In particular, the appearance of the latter seems to be the same as the icon for the application that from iPhone will allow users to remotely access the data stored on MobileMe via the Internet.

Recall that this feature was anticipated by Apple as part of the update to iPhone OS 3.0 but that still has not entered into operation today. In the Apple web pages dedicated to the new operating system still indicated with the entry "coming soon": here is visible the appearance of the icon that has become part of the MobileMe command bar from this night. The tweaks in appearance and functionality made in MobileMe between yesterday and today suggest that remote access to data via iPhone to MobileMe via iDisk, could be made available by Cupertino with the release of the iPhone OS 3.1 version, of which we remember was distributed the beta version a few hours ago to developers.

Here we report a comparison between the MobileMe command bars in the previous version the change and further down in the new version available from tonight. In addition to the completely revised iDisk icon, there is also the replacement of the icon for the Account, first with an anthropomorphic design, now made with the design of the gears in the same style as Mac OS System Preferences.

Thanks for the report to Felice De Luca
