New Apple TV with more storage space and "kids" mode coming soon?

The future generation Apple TV 2020 will be offered with greater storage capacity and, apparently, a "Kids" mode, fun, safe and child-friendly content, in order to protect children from access to potentially dangerous content.

Rumors that suggest the arrival of a new Apple TV 2020 have been around for some time and the reference to the model number "T1125" has been found in the beta of tvOS. According to rumors, the new version of the device will be offered in the "cuts" of 64 and 128GB, against the "cuts" of 32GB and 64GB of the current Apple TV 4K and of the 32GB of the Apple TV HD.

The increased storage capacity will obviously allow you to download and use many games and apps; if you use Apple TV for especially for movies, TV programs and streaming music or for some games and apps, a few GB of storage space are sufficient; if instead you intend to download and use many games and apps, it is better to opt for the model with more storage space (some apps require more space when they are in use).

The processor integrated in the Apple TV 6 or as it will be called, should be the SoC A11 or A12; in the Apple TV 4K currently integrated the A10X Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture, while in the Apple TV HD there is the A8 chip (always 64-bit). The YouTube channel reported the arrival of a new set-top box iUpdate and also the site The Verifier. Rumors circulating in recent weeks gave the launch of a new Apple TV as an imminent event, perhaps postponed for the coronavirus issue that forced many companies, including Apple, to review the launch dates of various products.

In addition to the "Kids" mode, another possible novelty could be the integration of Screen Time (in Italian "Usage time"), along the lines of what is already offered on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to allow access to real-time reports which show how much time you spend on devices and set limits on the content you want to manage.

A few days ago also rumors circulatednew audio options for AirPlay 2, with the possibility of assigning HomePods as default speakers and exploiting the latter for surround channels. It should be possible to select a pair of HomePods as default speakers for Apple TV. The latter already allows you to transmit the TV audio wirelessly to AirPlay 2 speakers, but the connection is not possible if the speaker is used for other activities; moreover, the connection is sometimes lost even when the device goes into standby.
