Aleron presents a device to sync iPhone wirelessly – Macitynet.it logomacitynet1200wide 1

Alereon has announced that it is about to present at Computex Taipei 2009, the first demonstration of an accessory for iPhone / touch, based on the new Ultra Wideband (UWB) standard and on the 90nm-LP chip AL5301, built at the Korean factories of Samsung. .

The demonstration will consist of a small USB wireless device connected to the dock connector of the iPhone or iPod touch. The adapter should allow Apple gadgets both longer autonomy and the ability to sync wirelessly to iTunes. Finally, in the future, it should allow HDTV connectivity, for viewing photos or videos.

In addition to reducing the power consumption of a typical USB wireless hardware, Aleron's gadget would simplify the installation process: it does not require any driver to be installed on the computer, and ready to connect "out-of-the-box".

Of sure interest, Aleron's demonstration could finally give hope to those who for months have hoped to one day be able to synchronize their iPhone or iPod wirelessly.
