The Pope lands on the iPhone

On May 24 the Pope officially arrived on the iPhone. From this date, in fact, the H2onews application available in the App Store, providing an important contribution to the whole world, Catholic and non-Catholic, to find out about the life of the Church and the words of Pope Benedict XVI.

The application, which can be downloaded for free in the News section of the App Store, has had thousands of reservations even before its launch, and, only after a day of activity, does it enter the TOP 20 of the free downloaded applications in its category.

H2Onews, this is the name of the application, provides streaming, and – for the moment – in Wifi mode, the videos produced by the international agency H2onews (www.h2onews.org), in collaboration with the Vatican Television Center and Vatican Radio. The Pope's videos on the iPhone can therefore be viewed on this application, in perfect "You Tube" style, in an intuitive, simple and functional way. A window on the Catholic world, a tool to follow the Pope and to be always informed about what is happening in the Vatican.

The application is part of the very important "Pope2you" project (pope2you.net), the new portal opened by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, which – in fact – launched the Church into the new world of social networks, and which success (we talk about more than 3,000,000 contacts in just 4 days) is enjoying worldwide. The Application was conceived by Andrea Scorzoni of H2onews, has Paolo Padrini – also coordinator of the Pope2You project – its project manager, and was developed by Dimitri Giani, the developer of the other important iBreviary application.
