Facebook for desktop has a new look: the new UI with a dark theme is being distributed

Facebook officially announced the release of the new desktop user interface: we had already talked about it at the beginning of February, when the company had started to distribute it to some selected users also in Italy.

The renewed design will be visible starting today, even if the roll out will end only "over the next few months", as announced by the social network. We will therefore have to wait a little longer because we can all access the new interface.

To activate it, just go to the Settings (the arrow at the bottom right) and click on the appropriate button "See the new Facebook"Some of us have already received it at the editorial office, following a comparison between old and new UI (in both versions, light and dark).

Let us briefly recall the innovations introduced in this version:

  • completely revised user interface
  • new design now more similar to the mobile versions of the Android and iOS apps
  • dark theme support which can be activated through a special switch in the Settings menu
  • greater general reactivity
  • simplified event, page, group and ad creation
