Many users, however, have not yet performed the iOS 7 Jailbreak for various reasons: some think it is not safe, others are afraid of doing damage, others still do not trust the program necessary to perform the Jailbreak or more. Many other users, however, have already run the iOS 7 Jailbreak and are delighted. As you can see, there are two different sides within the Apple world: on one side the supporters of the Jailbreak, on the other the opponents.

But does it make sense to jailbreak iOS 7? What are the benefits? Why do you need to jailbreak iOS 7? Is it better to wait for the iOS 7 Jailbreak? In this article I would like to try to answer your doubts, in order to clarify a little the situation Jailbreak for iPhone, iPod and iPad.

First, however, I have to make a premise: in fact, I have always been a supporter of the Jailbreak. Not to download applications, games and programs for free, but to modify, customize and fully push Apple's iOS operating system, which, without jailbreak, cannot be customized in any way. Having said that, let's proceed with the article on the Jailbreak for iOS 7.

Should I jailbreak iOS 7? Let's try to understand it together.

I will give you the answer right away: if you have an iPhone 5S, iPad Air or iPad Mini Retina, NO, it is not convenient to do the Jailbreak, simply because all the tweaks available on Cydia do not yet support the 64-bit processor that Apple has introduced on these devices. In practice, you will end up with the Jailbreak but you will not be able to use it for almost any tweak, except for the very few that are already compatible with this processor.

If instead you have any other Apple product, then I highly recommend you to do the Jailbreak, also because the iOS 7 compatible Cydia tweaks increase day by day and now almost all the most important ones can be used without problems.

Jailbreaking difficult?

Many users do not jailbreak because they are afraid of making a mistake or not being able to perform the procedure. Well, you can rest assured: the most complicated thing you will have to do to get the Jailbreak will be to connect your iPhone, iPod or iPad to your PC or Mac with a special cable. Once the Jailbreak program has started, do it all automatically, without you having to do anything else. I would say that the level of difficulty is very low, isn't it?

Is jailbreaking safe?

The jailbreak, as always, 100% secure. No additional risky or dangerous software will be installed on your device, unless you install it yourself (especially after the tool has been updated by the developers). IlJailbreak, in fact, simply installs Cydia on your devices, giving you the possibility to download and install all the tweaks present on Cydia. It is up to you to pay attention to what you download and install. It's a bit like surfing the internet: secure internet, but if you go to porn sites or if you start giving your credit card details left and right, your responsibility, not the internet. It is clear that the jailbreak makes your devices "more vulnerable" to external attacks and viruses, but even here it is up to you to pay attention to what you are going to do with your device. As already mentioned, the jailbreak itself is absolutely safe and does not pose any risk to the security of you or your devices.

Does the jailbreak invalidate the warranty of the iPhone, iPod or iPad?

Theoretically yes, but, before bringing your device to assistance in case of problems, you just need to do a complete reset to remove it and to make sure that your Apple device returns under warranty. Nobody will notice anything.

Does the jailbreak slow down the iPhone, iPod or iPad?

Again, NO. IlJailbreak does not slow down anything: it is you who, if you install one hundred thousand tweaks from Cydia and useless programs, go to weigh down the iPhone, iPod and iPad making it slow and "stuck". The same goes for Android, Windows and any other operating system: when the user uses their device with a head, nothing gets stuck or freezes. When the user becomes utter and begins to randomly install a thousand changes, unnecessary programs and heavy applications, it is obvious that the operating system also slows down. But if you just install the tweaks you need, the iOS 7 operating system does not slow down in any way and does not weigh down. I repeat, therefore, that the 100% stable Jailbreak, it is once again up to you to be careful of the tweaks you install: it is obvious that if a tweak has problems, it will also transfer them to your iPhone, iPod and iPad.

But what is the Jailbreak really for?

Jailbreakers basically do it for two reasons:

  • download games and programs that would normally be paid completely free of charge: through the AppSync tweak, which we talked about a few days ago. READ ALSO | How to install IPA on iPhone, iPad and iPod with Jailbreak with AppSync for iOS 7.0+
  • install many tweaks from Cydia, which allow you to customize the iPhone, iPod and iPad in an advanced way, adding a lot of functions and customizations to the operating system, which are normally not allowed by Apple.

There are no other reasons for jailbreaking other than these two. While the first is obviously illegal, since you download programs without having regularly paid for them, the second is absolutely lawful, since it allows you to push your device to the maximum, adding functions and customizations that have not been included by default.

What are the disadvantages of Jailbreak on iOS 7?

Obviously not all that glitters is gold. The jailbreak also has negative elements and, precisely as regards the cons, these are those currently highlighted by users on the net:

  • stability issues with the device after installing tweaks still not perfectly updated and supported by iOS 7
  • iOS 7.1 about to be released: those who want to update to iOS 7, will not be able to keep the jailbreak, since this will not be compatible with iOS 7.1 when it is released.

Jailbreak iOS 7: conclusions

So, in conclusion, is it convenient or not to do the iOS 7 Jailbreak?

If you don't have a 64-bit A7 device, the answer is yes. It is true, there are not many Cydia tweaks currently compatible, but day by day they are updated and become compatible with iOS 7. Those available, however, work perfectly and already allow you to add many functions and customizations to your Apple devices.

The risks, as you can see, are practically zero and the procedure to perform the iOS 7 Jailbreak easy, automatic and within everyone's reach. The program to perform the jailbreak stable and safe and, in a few minutes, you will be free to start customizing your Apple device to the maximum, getting rid of all the limits imposed by Apple.
