iPad Pro increasingly "MacBook": Apple thinks of a Smart Keyboard with trackpad

The next iPad Pro – yes, because there is only one model with a 12 "diagonal – it could benefit from an accessory that can make it more and more similar to a MacBook, according to the latest rumors reported by The Information.

In fact, it seems that Cupertino's house is ready to release one new version of the Smart Keyboard with integrated trackpad, thus completing an iPad transformation process that started already last year with the release of iPadOS 13, the first version of the tablet operating system that includes the mouse support.

The possible inclusion of a trackpad suggests that Apple wants to push hard on this feature and therefore iPad OS 14 could significantly improve mouse usage on iPad. At the moment, in fact, this function is present but it is also relegated to those of Accessibility. Consequently it is not a real one native mouse support, but the possibility of replicating the touches using a pointing device, with all the negative aspects of the case.

Should Apple include the trackpad in an official accessory, we expect that iPadOS is ready to offer gesture access via mouse and much more, ensuring a user experience similar to that of a MacBook. Last year we hypothesized that the disappearance of the MacBook 12 from the list was due to the overlap between this and the iPad Pro range equipped with iPadOS, products conceptually similar but profoundly different in the type of user experience.

Today's noise shows us the missing piece for the complete relocation of iPad Pro as "Apple's entry level computer"If we add to this the hypothesis that the next version of the tablet arrives only with a diagonal of 12", the list of the Cupertino house becomes increasingly clear: iPad Pro as computer suitable for everyone, MacBook Air (13 ") placed as a direct alternative for those who cannot give up some macOS functions and the MacBook Pro range designed for more demanding customers.
