Sophos has recently reported the presence of malware online, distributed in the classic way via e-mail. The malicious program hides itself as an attachment in an email, pretending to be a (fake) iPhone game.

The file would be named "", taking advantage of the popularity of the game, while the subject of the message seems to be alternately "Virtual iPhone games!" and "Apple: The most popular game!" In reality, the zip file contains a highly recommendable executable, being a trojan, which once launched could allow a hacker to take control of the computer, causing damage, stealing passwords and users. ID of various kinds and by installing spyware.

Ironically, the virus is completely harmless for Macs and iPhones, but it only affects Windows PCs, so it's better to pay attention to the files that pretend to be games for iPhone, remembering that iPhone and iPod touch applications can be downloaded only via the App Store.
