Microsoft process, an agreement is sought logomacitynet1200wide 1

It now seems that the future of the Microsoft trial is all in mediation. After rumors leaked in recent days according to which a series of face-to-face meetings between the Justice Department and the Redmond company would have started, an official confirmation is now also coming. Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who manages the trial from the district court, in fact ordered on Friday 'intensive contacts between the parties for seven hours a day, twenty-four hours a day'. A seamless comparison that must bring in times rather short on an agreement which, in everyone's opinion, is necessary in this moment of serious economic crisis. The deadline for an agreement has been set for November 2; if the two sides do not approach within two weeks of Friday, the figure of a mediator will be introduced. If the two sides fail to reach an agreement, the next deadlines are for December 2 with the DOJ's proposed remedy followed, ten days later by Microsoft's. The process could resume next March 11.
