Xiaomi best known for its cheap phones in the Indian market, but the company has set foot in all the different types of categories, including lifestyle products. Yes, as you need to know from our YouTube videos, we recently went to China and the Mi Store, we came across the fabulous Mi Travel Backpack ($ 49.99, Rs 2, 049). Xiaomi already sells a trio of its backpacks in India, but the Mi Travel Backpack has not yet made its debut here. I have used this backpack for the past week and here is my experience with the Mi travel backpack:

Before talking about my experience and opinions, here is a quick look at the key specifications of the Mi Travel backpack:

Design and build quality
At first glance, you will notice that the Mi travel backpack features a premium construction and does not compromise quality in any way. Although this travel backpack is much cheaper than its competitors (thanks to Xiaomi's fair price), you will find that it is Travel backpack I just as good as any other backpack that would you like to take with you around the country.
When you take a look at this backpack, you see that it has a coal-like color and a sinuous design, in which its front gives an hour-long glass-style aesthetic . There is a small zipper on the front (which is also super-premium and strong), with the curves that lead to the 2 side pockets as you move towards the bottom of this backpack.
There are 2 main compartments, with zippers, in this bag which are accessible from above, but we would like to elaborate on it in the storage section below. The backpack was built using a couple of different materials, with the front much shinier than the sturdy denim-like feel of the rest of the backpack. The exterior is water resistant while the interior is covered in polyester .
The back of the backpack, as well as the shoulder straps, are both well padded and make carrying the travel backpack a pleasure for anyone who owns it. I always liked carrying my bag on the subway every day and taking it to the office. There is also a large horizontal band on the back of the backpack, which can be used to place it on a suitcase with trolley wheels and a handle.
There are a number of features thought in this backpack, which show that Xiaomi kept the user's comfort in mind while designing it, and so I would like to summarize this backpack.
While the Xiaomi Mi travel backpack can stand upright once balanced on the bottom, Xiaomi could add support feet to further facilitate the process. This is the same feedback we received for the messenger camera bag as perhaps a small thing, but important in the overall experience.
I really like this Xiaomi design decision because it gives the backpack a bit of character, but I also have some resentment against it. The curve adds a lot of foreground creases and sometimes looks shabby, which can be easily repaired by filling the bag with a lot of stuff. Xiaomi, however, could have kept this in mind and added a frame to give the backpack support additional support.
Well, let me tell you this, because you think you would no longer have room for your trip with this bag a huge NO. The Mi Travel backpack has 11 storage compartments in total, so I think Xiaomi has covered you on that front. Let's start at one point and cover all sections of this backpack.
Starting from the front, you have a small but spacious zippered pocket that can be used to hold ticks, disinfectant or loose change. You can even store small accessories like the fidget cube or charging cables, but there is enough space inside this backpack. So, let's take a look at all the compartments inside.
When you open the main compartment, you will be overwhelmed by the total number of pockets (six, to be precise) that you can use to store all the different types of gadgets. First you will see the huge space in the middle that can be used to store chargers, wired earphones or photographic equipment . I was able to carry the Panasonic Lumix G77 and a few odd lenses in this space with ease.
You therefore have a zippered pocket on both sides of this compartment, where you can store small memorabilia or pens to keep them always at hand. There are 2 pockets under the zipper on the front, which you can use to store an additional phone or two (if you intend to travel to foreign countries) or business cards exchanged during the trip.
And finally, you have a hidden zip compartment on the back, which you can use to store your important files or documents that you want to keep away from others and carry them around safely.
The second compartment, as one would expect, to hold the laptop. You can easily place any 15.6-inch laptop (even some huge gaming laptops) in the Mi Travel Backpack, with notebook or tablet (like my iPad) in the pocket in front of the laptop compartment. Xiaomi has made an excellent addition and has marked everything for you, giving you instructions on where to put your things in this backpack.
Now that we have covered almost everything, we turn our attention to the side pockets, which are an important part of the aesthetics of the Travel Backpack. Each of these two pockets can be used to store cables and dongles for the laptop and smartphone, but the left one has an additional coating that allows you to store the lens filters or the SSD. I mainly used it to carry charging cables and additional data.
As for the protection of the tools inside, I am very satisfied with the overall coating of this backpack. Xiaomi has done an exceptional job of providing users with a padding in the bag where needed and you wouldn't feel that your laptops or photographic equipment were in danger.
The laptop compartment padded quite well on both ends, which means that the laptop can survive comfortably on a bump or 2 while casually carrying the bag around – via the shoulder strap or the padded handle on the top.
THE materials used in the Mi Travel backpack are also water resistant, which definitely means that you don't even have to worry about running for cover during monsoons in India. I believe that all your tools can rest comfortably in this travel backpack and you can carry it around with complete peace of mind.
Now that you've learned all there is to know about the Mi Travel Backpack, let's talk about how I love this backpack and feel that it could be enough for anyone, even if they don't have many things to carry around.
Xiaomi's travel backpack, designed for professionals, quite light and doesn't feel like a hassle to carry around during the day, whether it's a photo shoot, a product launch or a normal daily work on theGadget-Info. comoffice.
I usually carry the backpack on my left shoulder, however, the travel backpack has one of the most comfortable shoulder straps so I don't dig into my shoulder at any time. There is no problem I have against this backpack, but we cannot comment on the wear of the backpack because we could discern the same for an extended period of use.
Xiaomi Mi travel backpack: it doesn't improve this way
The Xiaomi Mi travel backpack, for me, turned out to be the perfect companion for most of the launch trips of my products. There is a lot (I mean, VERY) in this light and comfortable travel backpack, with almost nothing you despise here. At least I haven't found any negative oddities that would distract me from buying this backpack.
If I never got my hands on the Mi travel backpack, I wouldn't have believed you would could have obtained a long-lasting backpack at such an affordable price . There are many popular backpack brands such as Incase, whose Icon backpack ($ 129, 95) what many swear by in the tech community.
The Icon backpack offers the same quality and comfort, but costs almost 3 times the Mi Travel Backpack, which does nothing but prove it – and my point is that the best backpack in its price segment. You can find backpacks from unknown companies, but Xiaomi is a known brand that many people swear by. Here is a summary of what is good and bad with this backpack:
- Build Premium
- Use of water resistant material
- An immense amount of space
- Well padded on all sides
- The curved design could have been better
- Lack of support feet
