Along with the new iPods there will also be a new version of iTunes. The indiscretion, very popular until a few days ago, got a little 'immersed' in the approach to the date of the event to be held next Tuesday, but Kevin Rose thinks about reviving it. The founder of Digg, who among the first predicted both the date of the same event and the appearance of the new iPods, returns to the topic on his blog, reiterating that iTunes version 8 will be one of the highlights of the presentation.
The juke box presenter, says Rose, many news. Among these Genius, a function that will be able to analyze the music in the playlist and automatically create groups of songs that match each other. Genius will also include Genius Bar, a sort of evolved Ministore; as known Ministore the system of suggestion of purchase of songs based on the previous choices, which Apple has already provided in version 7 of iTunes. The new version, Genius in fact, should be much more intelligent and selective, at least this is what is meant by indiscretions.
Among the other news of iTunes 8 a new grid view, a new 'psychedelic' music viewer (among the themes there should be a "spatial" one) and the possibility of downloading TV shows (where available, in Italy for now) they are not) in HD format. Obviously the new iTunes 8 will be compatible with the hardware that Apple will introduce during the event.
As for rented music or new ways of buying songs (for some time we talked about iPods supplied with annual subscription included in the price) the Yerba Buena stage will not be the right one. At the moment, several sources say, Apple would not yet have fired the songs in this mode and without having a contract with the record companies put in black and white, impossible for Apple to announce anything.
