Logitech has announced Logitech Squeezebox Boom, a new all-in-one network music system featuring an integrated amplifier and high-performance speakers.
With Logitech Squeezebox Boom all-in-one you can listen to music in digital format in any room of the house, from the kitchen to the bedroom to the hall, without having to connect external speakers; simply connect the Logitech network music player to an electrical outlet without additional cables.
Using the existing home network, you can enjoy your favorite music directly from your computer collection, Internet radio stations, subscription services such as Rhapsody, Last.FM, Slacker, Pandora and Sirius, even when the computer is turned off.
Adding Squeezebox Boom to the network is very simple: the system automatically detects the available networks; once you have selected your own, just enter the password that Squeezebox Boom, for convenience, automatically saves for subsequent access.
After registering Squeezebox Boom, you have access to thousands of radio stations and millions of songs, selected by Logitech SqueezeNetwork's free online service, without having to save or remember addresses and passwords. Squeezebox Boom is based on true 802.11g wireless technology with dual internal antennas to ensure optimal wireless network speed and secure connection. To spread the sound in the room, Squeezebox Boom offers an integrated 30 watt digital amplifier equipped with two soft dome tweeters of about 2 cm high definition and two 8 cm long excursion and high power woofers.
A two-amp design, which includes a high-performance signal processor, a Class D amplifier and a digital crossover, ensures crystal clear sound with minimal noise and distortion. For lovers of low tones Squeezebox Boom equipped with a subwoofer connection. And thanks to the 3.5 mm jack that allows you to connect the system to headphones, you can listen to music in private.
The included remote control controls Squeezebox Boom from every point and equipped with a small magnet to attach to the top of the Squeezebox Boom or, for example, to the refrigerator.
The new Squeezebox Boom is part of the Squeezebox family of products which includes the Logitech Squeezebox Duet network player, Logitech Squeezebox and, typically chosen by audiophiles, the Logitech Transporter system. The systems are also compatible with iTunes thanks to a Mac software.
