Sony presented three new digital cameras and a new digital photo printer on the American market yesterday, all compatible with Mac.The Cyber-shot DSC-F707 (price on the US market of 1000 $, about 2.2 million) a 5 megapixels machine intended for the semi-professional segment. It has an image size of 2560 x 1720, a Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar 5X optical zoom with F2.0 aperture, and several of the most sophisticated pointing and focusing systems including Hologram AF based on laser pointing capable of point the image even in low light environments. The storage of the image can be done in various formats, in addition to the most popular also MPEG-HQ and MPEG-EX and even in animated Gif. The machine has a 16MB memory stick. Sony has also introduced two lower-end cameras: the DSC-P5 to the DSC-P3. The first costs $ 600 and has a 3X and 6X digital zoom with 3.34 megapixel images, the second costs $ 500, has no optical zoom but only a digital 3X with 3.34 megapixel images (2.8 effective). Both the DSC-P3 and P5 are capable of producing animated files of 10 frames in GIF format. The memory sticks are 8 MB. The digital printer mentioned by the DPP-MP1 at the opening; it is a portable device also powered by battery. It can be connected directly to a computer via USB and costs 280 $ (plus 70 $ for the battery)
